This is usually an indication of a bad connection to the dispatcher network. This can be confirmed by checking the footer, and if the Tablet IP shows 'UNKNOWN' then it is definitely an issue with the network connection.
To solve an issue with the network connection:
- Double check the Ethernet cable is connected to the right switch. If no Link light (usually a green LED, should be solid) is showing when you plug in the tablet, then you may need to replace the Ethernet cable.
- If it is connected to the right switch and a link is showing, check that the dispatcher is connected, powered and showing activity.
- If the previous steps failed to resolve the issue, the tablet may be faulty, check this by plugging a known working tablet into the Ethernet cable and if it still works then either the tablet configuration is wrong or it is faulty.
If the tablet shows an IP in the footer, but still refuses to connect:
- Check that the dispatcher is connected to the network, powered and showing activity. And that it works with other tablets.
- Check that the tablet has the correct dispatcher IP and port configured (this can be found in the admin page, and is usually 192.168.10.20:8000)
