The Kiosk display has frozen

Modified on Wed, 16 Apr at 5:51 PM

If you're experiencing issues with tablet freezing, there could be several possible causes:

Cabling

If most tablets are functioning correctly but one or two are not, the issue is likely related to cable termination.
To test this:

  • Remove the affected tablet from the kiosk.

  • Connect it directly to the network switch.

If it works when connected directly, the problem is probably with the cabling or termination at the kiosk end.

Power

If all tablets freeze at the same time and then resume after a few minutes, this may indicate that a software component in the dispatcher has restarted.

If this happens regularly, it is likely that the power supply to the dispatcher is unstable or intermittent.

Other Scenarios

If the issue doesn’t fall into the categories above, please contact us with as much detail as possible. This will help us diagnose the problem more effectively. In particular, let us know:

  • Whether the issue affects a specific kiosk or the entire installation.

  • For specific kiosks:

    • On which floor(s) the affected kiosks are located.

    • Which riser they are on (counting clockwise from position 0, with the first kiosk on the left-hand side of the lobby).

Important:  Always include a video of the issue occurring while you attempt to use the kiosk. This often provides valuable clues and can significantly speed up diagnosis.  The more information you can provide, the more effectively we can assist you.
